Seven island figure skaters will represent PEI at the combined Sectionals Competition for the three Maritime Provinces.  The 2009 BMO Skate Canada NB NS PEI Sectionals will be held Friday November 7th through Sunday November 9th, 2008.

Skate Canada PEI will be holding open tryouts for the 2011 Canada Winter Games on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at the South Shore Arena in Crapaud. An information session will be held from 11:30 - 12:00 noon, then on ice session from 12:15 - 1:15. Any skaters who have passed the complete Preliminary Freeskate test, are interested in committing to competitive skating and a position on the 2011 Canada Winter Games Figure Skating Team and were under 17 years of age on July 1, 2008 are invited to attend.
